Many USA recipes include ingredients not widely available here in the UK eg, minute rice, corn syrup, grits or millet. I can get them from specialist suppliers or amazon, eBay etc, but this makes it expensive and ruins the point of packbaiting.
Here are some recipe’s I have converted and caught many fish on.
Basic Corn pack
200g Panco breadcrumbs
300g rolled jumbo oats
23g Jelly powder ( 2sachets of Harleys jelly)
400g Creamed corn (one tin)
Mix the dry ingredients then mix in the creamed corn
Wait 20 mins and it is ready to fish.
Flavoured pellet 65
2 cups 2mm trout pellet (chow)
1 cup Wheat Bran or ground Kelloggs All bran
1/2 cup Soya flour
1 1/2 cups Flour
4 fl oz Golden Syrup
3 fl oz black treacle (molasses)
1 fl oz of orange squash
As with all groundbait, mix together all the dry components first.
Then mix all the wet components (30 seconds in the microwave makes this job easy).
Then mix it all together, make sure there are no dry patches.
Leave to bind for 24 hours and it’s ready to fish.
Hard as rock mix
1 1/2cup Golden syrup
2 cup flour
2 cup pellet
2 cup oats
2 cups wheat bran
1 cup corn flake (crushed)
½ cup Shreddies (ground)
Supermarket mix
1 cup Golden syrup
1 cup flour
1 cup grape nuts (a breakfast cereal available is most supermarkets)
1 cup oats
1 cup allbran (ground)
1 cup corn flake (well well crushed)
1 cup shreddies (ground)
